5 year old female. Shots not known. Leashbroke and good with kids. Named Pepper. (7/23/03)

NEW MESQUITE ANIMAL SHELTER Hello. I volunteer at the Mesquite animal shelter (a city-run shelter) and was there Saturday. There is a German Shepherd that was picked up stray and will be ready for adoption July 22. She is an adult, looks to have been bred and had puppies, and not fed well. She's extremely thin and the tips of her ears look like the've been eaten off by flies but seems in good health otherwise and has an excellent disposition from what I saw. I had her out and walked her, and we dipped her and she was very well-behaved.
I know everybody is short of foster homes these days, but I'm trying to contact rescue groups when there is a purebred dog in need of help. This girl definitely needs some help! Of course there's a chance she will get adopted, but if she does not, do you have anyone who could foster her? I wish I could, but I simply don't have the space right now. Any assistance you could provide would be appreciated. I can also try to work out transportation for her if that's an issue. The shelter number is 972-216-6283. Feel free to contact me too if you have any questions.

Thank you,
Susan Morrison

NEW Highland Village - KiKi is eight years old. She has been a part of our family since she was two weeks old. We visited her weekly until she was eight weeks old. We then took her home where she has been with us since. She has not been around other children, so therefore, is not affectionate towards them. She is housebroken and follows simple commands. KiKi loves to play ball. She does lots of tricks....wipe your mouth, shy baby, shake, sit, lie, etc. She was raised in Kansas so she prefers cold rather than Texas "hot". So she loves airconditioning. She would love a big backyard as well.....call her spoiled. She is current on all her vaccinations and heartworm treatment. We love her very much but are unable to take her with us, as we are leaving the country and will be highly mobile while abroad. (7/20/03)

He says about Pal, "Favorite thing #1 - - - loves to play ball - extremely excellent catcherand retriever, but he's so dogone enthusiastic - sometimes it's hard to get the ball back from him ! - He'll bring it right back to ya' every single time - then almost laugh and say - 'Here- try to get it back from me, then throw it again' " (7/20/03)
